April is beginning and the new year comes here
And she smiles at me
So the people beyond the river will gather around together
Around here when the sun’s telling us
We listen to the sun sounds within Mama Mekong
And it shines tenderly
And now it surely feels like a sweet-old home mm-mm

The fresh wind blows (and the fresh water) sways my boat

I wish you a new year filled with lots of smiles
Beyond the mountains, beyond the days
We’ll spend together and forever
And then wishing you a someday coming back to Mama Mekong

Near even we got lost in the way
